T.J. Cooper has been a lead trainer in tactical topics since 1987. Mr. Cooper teaches civilian, law enforcement and military agencies on demand. As a lead tactical trainer, Mr. Cooper continually trains, attends and teaches high liability topics in criminal justice academies, colleges and training forums.
Mr. Cooper holds the rank of Sergeant and is a member of the agency’s SWAT Unit, where he acts as a team leader and training coordinator. Mr. Cooper is also a consultant, with tactical certifications as an instructor trainer from several national companies to include P.P.C.T. Management, L.E.A.D. Inc., I.P.T.M., The N.T.O.A., IALEFI, and ILLEETA among others. Mr. Cooper has graduated from a host of highly rated programs to include those offered by FLETC, A.T.F., and the F.B.I., as well as a host of notable training courses offered by H&K International, Singleton International, C.S.A.T., and the Universal Shooting Academy. Training has occurred in programs ranging from Aircraft Assaults to Waterborne Operations.
A writer of several published articles and manuals, Mr. Cooper has an Associate Degree in General Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management. Mr. Cooper is certified as an Emergency Medical Technician / Tactical Medic , Personal Fitness consultant and is continuing a slow pursuit of a Masters Degree in education.

Gary Cobb
Lead Sniper, Tactical Rope, Dig. Ops
Gary Cobb has 6 years previous military experience (U.S. Navy) and over 18 years law enforcement experience and is presently employed as a detective with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Duval County Florida. Det. Cobb has served in the capacity of both patrol officer and investigator. Det. Cobb is a senior member of SWAT Team and presently serves in the capacity of the Marksman/Counter-Sniper Team leader. He is also a member of the teams training Cadre with an active role in developing and facilitating SWAT training programs; specializing in the areas of Dignitary/Witness Protection, Firearms Tactics, Building Searches, High-Angle Rappel/Rope Rescue Operations and Close Quarters Combat and Defensive Tactics Training. Det. Cobb has an extensive background in martial arts where he hold instructor certifications in the arts of Kali and Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do. His martial arts experience has been enhanced by his background as a competitive fighter is in the arenas of Boxing, NHB Fights and NAGA.“

Nick Burgos
Chemical Agents Instructor, APC Instructor
Nick enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1986 and served as a missile technician on nuclear submarines. Following his service in the Navy, he was hired by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in 1996. He has been an active member of Jacksonville’s SWAT team since March 99. He has responded to numerous call-outs as well as high risk warrants. Nick has competed in the SWAT roundup competition 2000 - 2001. He is currently assigned to the Career Criminal Unit were he tracks sexual predators and provides investigative support to the entire detective division. He is a certified firearms, defensive tactics, and taser instructor. Nick has attended numerous tactical classes to include hostage rescue training from Paul Howe and Mike Odle.

Served in the United States Army at Ft. Stewart, GA and at Mainz, Germany, Wiesbaden, Germany. Graduated from PCT (Mini Ranger Course) in Bad Tolz, Germany, Graduated from French Commando School in Margival France, Attended several Hand to Hand Combat course at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Have certifications in military schools Small Weapons Repair, Escape and Evasion, and SRT Team Tactics. Employed as a Police Officer by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in 1987. Extensive Martial Arts history; Tuhon Baltazar Sayoc inSayoc (Pekiti Tersia). Fought in No-Holds-Barred. Certified as an Associate Level 4 Instructor in the LaCoste Inosanto Blend Kali (Filipino Martial Arts) and Associate level 4 in Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do under Guro Dan Inosanto. Also Certified as a Guro in Maphlindo Silat under Guro Inosanto. Certified Instructor in Combat Submission Wrestling under Sensei Erik Paulson. Lead Defensive Tactics Instructor and Police Officer Survival at the Jacksonville Police Academy

J. Short
Jackson Short has over seven years law enforcement experience and is currently assigned as a detective with the Tactical Support Unit of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force. For the last five years, Detective Short has served as a member of the SWAT team on the entry team, less lethal/chemical agents team and is currently a sniper on the team. He is also a member of the training cadre and regularly teaches in the following areas: Firearms Tactics, Defensive Tactics, Rapid Response, Building Searches, Search Warrants, Hostage Rescue, Vehicle Assaults, Impact Munitions, Chemical Agents, Distraction Devices, OC Spray, and Taser deployment.
