Mission
Simply stated, our Mission is to provide armed professionals with the highest-quality training possible as well as the appropriate field-tested products to prevail in stressful conditions.

Background
In the 1980’s, following service with Naval Special Warfare at SEAL Team One
(Honor Graduate of BUD/S class #105), I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity
to spend the next 10 years directing several anti-terrorism programs for the Department
of the Navy (DON).

These programs were founded on a demanding Force-on-Force training approach.
Our staff members regularly interacted with other military units as well as specialized
law enforcement teams. Decommissioned warships served as challenging platforms
for day and night training.
Unsatisfied and wanting to experiment and improve to an even greater degree,
I co-founded Combative Concepts Inc. This company aggressively sought out
strategies, principles, tactics, and techniques that would prevail in actual combat. Combative Concepts Inc. constantly evaluated its curriculums. They were refined
and tested in a variety of environments with a diverse population of operators.

As a natural outgrowth of Combative Concepts Inc., I started a well-known low-light training institution that was staffed with former military and law enforcement personnel and supported by an extensive adjunct staff from around the country. Using the
concepts and lessons learned through the DON programs and Combative Concepts Inc., this Institute initially focused on the issues associated with prevailing in a low-light environment but regularly addressed the full-spectrum of CQC.

Several years later Strategos International was formed by decorated SWAT officer, Vaughn Baker and myself. Founding members of this company were the core instructors, founders, and long-time leaders of the previous Institution. It is our firm belief that merely covering the gaps in an operator’s performance with a thin veneer of check-the-box-type training is futile and unproductive. Strategos International offers courses that are a wise investment for serious operators.
